Port of Spain, Trinidad – March 18, 2002 – The Trinidad & Tobago Postal Corporation (TTPost) has chosen the SunSystems Financials software from Systems Union to better manage its financial operations.
This forms part of the corporation’s overall restructuring plan to implement a Financial Management Information System (FMIS).
The contract was signed with the Port of Spain based Savannah Computing who is the Systems Union Caribbean distributor based in Trinidad and the installation of the FMIS system is currently in progress and scheduled for completion by May 2002.
This selection was based on a very specific set of requirements laid out in an open tender and the system was selected on its ability to meet and exceed these requirements as well as the product’s versatility and reputation.
Requirements included strong reporting flexibility, ease of data import and export ability, open architecture, and support for the premier database management system of ORACLE in a Windows 2000 Operating environment.
"We require a reputable and reliable solution which will provide better management of our financial information together with comprehensive reporting of our business units using easy-to-use tools with standard interfaces.
Doug Maclean, Managing Director of TTPost said the versatility of SunSystems will give the company quicker access to its data and a more informed and accurate approach to financial reporting as needed by a modern, professional postal service operating in full business mode.
Maclean said in order for TTPost to further position itself as a vibrant and customer oriented provider of goods and services seeking to achieve a profit, the company has to ensure that it has control over revenue streams and expenditure. “Together with SunSystems and Savannah Computing TTPost will meet this challenge.”
